HP Envy 15 ACPI, AHCI,White List, LAN Controller, Virtualization, Wake-On-Lan

Not sure if anyone will be looking for this but i've modified the latest HP Envy 15 11xx bios to allow the use of AHCI mode instead of RAID mode. Removed the White List for Wi-Fi Cards so now you can use any Wi-Fi cards you want. Using ACPI 4.0, enabled the LAN Controller and Wake-On-Lan function on S3/S5 (Sleep/Shutdown) states. Be careful with this. Once you flash, you better be prepared to format your installation again.

  1. Hi,
I have a HP Envy 15 1190eo(AMD 5830 version). Do you think your bios will work on my laptop or is there a risk of breaking it?
    Thanks,
    Razvan

  3. Hello, i was looking for this really long! Thank you really for editing the bios ! I have Hp Envy 15 1090eg and my Samsung SSD (Samsung Magician) tells me i should enable AHCI and my speed is only half of what it should be. IS there a Chance to flash this Bios without having to reinstall windows (7 ultimate, 64 bit). Cheers, have a nice day !

    1. There is no way for you to enable AHCI without having to re-install Windows unfortunately. Or rather there might be a way but i have no idea how to do it. Re-installing seems like the easiest and fastest way mate.

  4. Hi Zane

Thank you for the moded bios. Am gone use it on my Hp with samsung ssd. But i have another question for u. I am using my laptop for audio work...and I want it to be as fast as possible...do u think if by disabling turbo mode (so the cores work cons. on full speed) and disabling all the power management in bios, shoul i gain any advantage...can u mod the bios that way...i would be very grateful...tnx for ur answer...Luka

  5. Hi Zane...tnx for the bios...i will install a samsung ssd this week on my Hp15-1190eo and ur bios will come very handy..:).but i have another question - request for u...i use the laptop as a audio workstation...is it possible maybe to disable the turbo mode in bios so the cores work full speed all the time, and other power management options that slow down the cpu speed...if this is possible and if there is speed improvement can u please mod the bios this way..i would be very grateful...tnx Luka :)

    1. Hi Nalruf, I don't think disabling turbo will make the computer any faster. To my knowledge, it's really not possible to squeeze out a significant performance increase just by modifying the bios. However, with the installation of an SSD, your HP Envy 1190eo will definitely be faster if you have never used an SSD before. Cheers. Have Fun.
